Many people think they get a virus from the song downloads, but many
times it is just a "feature" of the download software. If you go
anywhere that requires that you install something in order to download
the music, don't do it. You don't need software to download an MP3 file.
The software is there so it can make your computer a server so people
can download from your computer instead of having a massive server
capacity for the download "service". If your computer stays online, and
you have a high speed internet connection, then your machine will become
busy when people want to download the music you download. And if you
download a lot, your machine will get very busy. Been through this
several times with my nephew and son-in-law. Pretty much shuts down the
home network and makes everything very slow. Most people think it is a
virus, but it is really part of the license agreement that nobody reads
when you install the software.
