Hello everyone,
Today we met near the Admin Block and drafted a policy framework
for the operation of the FSUGPU which will be presented to the
administration
so that the due process could be followed for the official recognition of
the group/club.
I am attaching the draft policy here for feedback, suggestions, corrections
and modifications from everyone.
@sooraj : I see that loomio has a pricing policy along with a GIFT policy
for which I couldn't understand the criteria! I suggest you to create the
group in the site for FSUGPU.

FREE SOFTWARE USER GROUP, PONDICHERRY UNIVERSITY (FSUGPU) POLICY FRAMEWORK

1. FSUGPU should be a platform to discuss politics but not party politics.
Political discussion can include :
- Government policies
- Privacy related issues
- Educational policy and activities
- Market dynamics
- Purchase policies and discussions of Government and Government undertaken
institutions
- Copyright and intellectual property rights
2. A platform or ecosystem to provide development and promote the use of Free
Software. Promotional activities can include :
- Support
- Training
- Consultancy
- Development
- Organizing events
- Mobilizing funds
3. All the decisions should come through members with or without the help of
decision making platforms like LOOMIO
4. The formal body is just to serve a medium of communication between members
and administration and also to the other groups and clubs within the campus of
Pondicherry University.
5. Members of FSUGPU will be organized in 3 - TIERs
- TIER I : The TIER - I will include students and research scholars inside
the Pondicherry Unniversity campus at Kalapet, Puducherry.
- TIER II : The TIER - II will include all other students and research
scholars along with all staff affiliated to Pondicherry
University
- TIER III: The TIER - III will include all other members subscribed to the
mailing list of FSUGPU.
6. Procedure of the Decision Making Process within the group.
- All members can participate in the decision making process.
- Only members in TIER - I are allowed to participate in voting.
- For decision making regarding specific projects, only members directly
involved with the project are allowed to vote.
- A meeting of members will be conducted every fortnight.
