AGENDA FOR 11/2 FSF MEETING (summary of discussion in parentheses) 1. School district has not responded to request for meeting about use of a classroom and whether insurance would be required. We are currently donating $50 per month for use of meeting space. Given size of group, consider meeting in our homes to save money? (Carol Werblin will check into free use of Temple Beth El on Park Avenue in Huntington.) 2. Report on Nov. 9-13 trip to Nicaragua. Seven souls have signed on, and several meetings have been set up. A waiver agreement has been drawn up to offer protection from lawsuits to directors and corporation. A meeting was held with the pastor of East Northport Christian Church and Jim Leonick of the East Northport Rotary focusing on drinking/irrigation water for Nuevo Amanecer. A fund-raiser for this project will be held at 7:30 Friday night, Nov. 3, at that church, $25 for dinner and concert. (Meeting for voyagers at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Casa Wiltamuth, 119 Burt Ave.) 3. A written report from the Local Area Committee. (Six boxes of winter clothing, collected by Bruce Howe, were taken to Haven House, along with 18 Halloween goodie bags donated by Students for 60000. Volunteers sought for homework tutors. Using $250 from Friends, shopping for Ecumenical Food Pantry.) 4. A discussion of the Matinecock Court housing plan. (Millie Willen briefly outlined the status of the housing development, which is still getting clearances for construction. She urged low-key meetings, perhaps with Students for 60000, to learn about the development and who will be living there.) 5. Other committee reports? 6.
