AGENDA FOR 11/2 FSF MEETING

(summary of discussion in parentheses)

1. School district has not responded to request for meeting about
use of a classroom and whether insurance would be required. We are
currently donating $50 per month for use of meeting space. Given size of
group, consider meeting in our homes to save money? (Carol Werblin will
check into free use of Temple Beth El on Park Avenue in Huntington.)
2. Report on Nov. 9-13 trip to Nicaragua. Seven souls have signed
on, and several meetings have been set up. A waiver agreement has been
drawn up to offer protection from lawsuits to directors and corporation.
A meeting was held with the pastor of East Northport Christian Church
and Jim Leonick of the East Northport Rotary focusing on
drinking/irrigation water for Nuevo Amanecer. A fund-raiser for this
project will be held at 7:30 Friday night, Nov. 3, at that church, $25
for dinner and concert. (Meeting for voyagers at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Casa
Wiltamuth, 119 Burt Ave.)
3. A written report from the Local Area Committee. (Six boxes of
winter clothing, collected by Bruce Howe, were taken to Haven House,
along with 18 Halloween goodie bags donated by Students for 60000.
Volunteers sought for homework tutors. Using $250 from Friends, shopping
for Ecumenical Food Pantry.)
4. A discussion of the Matinecock Court housing plan. (Millie
Willen briefly outlined the status of the housing development, which is
still getting clearances for construction. She urged low-key meetings,
perhaps with Students for 60000, to learn about the development and who
will be living there.)
5. Other committee reports?
6. If you have topics for the agenda, please e-mail to
wiltamuth@xxxxxxxxxxx or pedro831@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
7. New business.
8. Next meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 7, at 7:30, possibly at this
location.
