Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,
There were 12 members and no guests. Jonathan Kolber was our toastmaster and
his theme was UFO's. Are UFO's real? Blowback. Seth Shostak.
Highlights from the evening
1. Jennifer Dunne speaking on MOUBI. Abstract speech. Universal in that
everyone gets it. Gestures with bigger and bigger. Descriptive vocabulary.
2. Bill Farrand was quiz master and he commented with "I like to sleep
during meetings".
3. Luis Estrada was grammarian. Great WOD with Euphoria. At the end of the
report, he thought the meeting was great and the only way it could have been
better was to have violins playing.
4. Table Topics master was Ray Pezolt with great questions all relating to
UFO's. Dirk with Aliens pushing Santa into a UFO in his front yard. Colette
with "me being me" Robin with unidentified flipping object.
5. Issac with first time being timer joker and he was also gesture master.
6. Richa Acharya was our GE and she was amazing with her feedback on the
meeting and on individuals.
Ribbon Winners:
Best Speech: Kathleen Jewby. Job interview with Bill Farrand.
Best Evaluator: Robin McIntosh. Excellent feedback on how Kathleen could
have been better with Bill's questions.
Best Table Topics: Luis Estrada. Green card has the word Alien on it.
Diapers and the Shooser. Big baton.
Final Thoughts for the Day.
It was another great meeting with everyone engaged. Everyone in the meeting
participated in table topics. Both speakers with Jennifer and Kathleen
delivered their speeches with confidence. Most of the meetings moves along
very quickly and the time seems to fly by. This was no exception. Next
week's meeting should be another great one. Kathleen Jewby will be our
toastmaster and she's going to squeeze an entire meeting into one hour. Dirk
is giving a work shop in the second hour. Should be awesome, interesting,
and fun. Until next week, I am your humble secretary.
