I would say that as much as possible of the DDr2 would be good. The nice thing is that DDr2 is low on price now, whereas DDR and SDRAM is on the rise. I would ask for them to send what they can spare as we have systems that need the ram and with those systems being the new defacto of our standard and we have no DDr2 we could use as much as possible. As far as speed goes... I think any thing would be fine. CHUQ Just throwing my 2 cents around.. you can make change from that! -----Original Message----- From: frgeek-michiana-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:frgeek-michiana-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Tom Brown Sent: Tuesday, March 02, 2010 2:35 PM To: frgeek-michiana@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [frgeek-michiana] P4 RAM sticks Rather than purchase DDR2 RAM for P4s, I would ask the Mothership in Portland, Oregon, to grant us a box of DDR2. They usually respond quickly to a request of this nature. How many sticks do we need? What speed or speeds? Tom -snip- 3. Phil discovered that some of the P4's had been stripped of memory. To further aggravate the problem, those systems are DDR-2 systems! We will have to buy memory for them. I'll see what I have at home and if I happen to have some DDR-2 memory I'll bring it in to at least test the systems. So far, ZERO P4 systems have failed testing. -snip- ** This list is PUBLICLY archived. ** PLEASE don't post personal or sensitive information unless you wish for it to be in the public domain.
