Not much point in going with a high end RAID controller. We only need RAID-1
for a classroom lab. You guys mess with this stuff more then I do so your more
qualified then I am.

You can get a 6-port controller with 64 MB Cache for an additional $429 and you can make them hot-swap sata drives for another $189.

This has only a 2 port SATA controller? I’ve built intel/Supermicro dual xeon servers cheaper than this with 3 drives and hot swap bays and 6 port raid5 sata card.
