The dirty little secret about laptop LCD screens is that they are more generic than you think. For the most part, if a screen is the same dimensions, it will work. The data connector is standardized and the inverter connetion is pretty common. -----Original Message----- From: frgeek-michiana-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:frgeek-michiana-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Tom Brown Sent: Friday, March 27, 2009 9:35 AM To: FreeGeek Michiana Subject: [frgeek-michiana] Inspiron 6000 LCD Yesterday, we were given a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop with a broken display. It is a good laptop other than the LCD. Goose suggested that we replace the LCD, if it doesn't cost too much, and make it our presentation laptop for FreeBox classes, other trainings and speaking engagements. Would someone research the cost of purchasing and installing a replacement LCD for it?
