Subject: [frgeek-michiana] Warehouse Report - Tuesday 03-02-2010
To: "Free Geek Michiana" <frgeek-michiana@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Date: Tuesday, March 2, 2010, 8:05 PM

Present: Goose, Phil, Kelsey, Dan, Tobias, Chuck

1) ONE P4 system needs to be cleaned and then it's ready for delivery!

2) 11? systems on the floor ready to take home and update Ubuntu, then final
test and clean. I guess the game plan is to get systems home as volunteers
can and get them updated. Bring back to the warehouse for final testing and
when we have 8 systems, have a cleaning party!

    10 are P4's and at least 256mb and 1 is a P3-933, 384MB testbed for
Ubuntu.

3) 3 systems dbanned and ready for loading Ubuntu

4) Dan and Kelsey dmaned stuff. 1 (maybe 2) gaylords of metal ready for the
trip to the scrapper. One still in the work area, one in cold storage. Setup
a small gayload to hold circuit boards. As soon as I can find another
smaller one, it will be for power supplies. We need to find and hold out
some P4 power supplies (With the additional 4 pin Yellow/Black connector) to
fix computers on the testing table.

5) Hard to type when catted...

6) Chuck (Yes, spelled correctly; not Jackels) stopped by to learn more
about Free Geek. Chuck and his daughter are going to go into the community
to drum up support for Free Geek.

Tom we REALLY REALLY NEED to get that 501(c)3 DONE AND SUBMITTED.

7) Phil repaired 4 or 5 P4's tonight! Phil then went climbing all over the
inventory looking for stuff. Together he and I located another gayload
labeled P4's but sure didn't look full of them. Probably older P3's on the
bottom. We hand dug out some more P4's. The initial estimate of a approx 40
of them does hold true at this point. Unfortunately, many we found tonight
look scavenged.

8) Tobias finalized the one machine tonight. NO ISSUES with the Floppy drive
or USB memory stick. Audio played fine. IDNR (I Do Not Recall) if a data cd
was tested. I'm assuming since audio, floppy and USB went fine, data cd's
will. (Alis, we all know what assume means <gt>) Printer NOT tested since we
have not located a HP5L yet to hookup for testing. This finalized machine,
Dan had taken home and updated it via Internet so the network card works
<g>.

9) I do not have Adrian's phone number AFAIK... Tom is it possible to call
him and ask him to stop by so we can get clarification on the Spanish
support for Ubuntu please?

Many thanks to everyone for their hard work tonight. We did get a lot done.

Richard
