Good news on project follow-ups.
:: Food Bank Kiosk
I spoke to one of the board members, the CTO at a local college. She had
not heard of the project, but thinks it is a great ("noble" in her
words) idea so she invited me to meet her at the Taste of Michiana fund
raiser at 5:00 PM today. We discussed next steps to move the project
forward, and she is eager to push ahead. Another board member attended
the kiosk demo Forest gave the director of the Food Bank; that board
member will be at the fund raiser as well so I intend to meet her too.
:: SB Junior Academy
Brian is our liaison on the project. He has been working on getting DRI
(direct rendering interface) working on Edubuntu/LTSP and thinks it is
going well enough for a test. Tonight Brian will return the Sun server
(boat anchor) he borrowed and pick up a P3 box to use as the test server.
:: Drop Off Tonight
Dan S., one of our long term donors, is dropping off a load of computers
tonight. I didn't ask how many. Could be a trunk full to a truck full.
