Intersting read. Outside of USR / LTmodems and MAYBE PCtel modems, there's not a lot of hope when it comes to pci modems. I can speak on the LTmodem drivers when downloaded and build from the .tgz files on Debian (ref the laptop). It works... Plain and simple.
