Just an FYI to the list:
Our SMTP mail server just got upgraded and stopped accepting email
from our Foxboro Sun boxes. I think we are now using a version of
Exchange 2000 and it does not like hostnames that end with a trailing
'.' The default sendmail config file /etc/mail/sendmail.cf has:
# my official hostname
Dj$w.$m
and apparently $m is the domain and it is blank. To fix the problem
I just modified the line to remove the '.$m' and everything seems to work
now.
