I agree with Terry. Yes, the price from Foxboro will be 2x+, but you won't be able to buy exactly what Foxboro bought. I did this (for spares) in the UNIX/SUN days, but that hardware was more standardized. I don't think you can do it from Dell (I tried for a spare early on and could not get an exact match). You'll also risk loss of Foxboro support should an issue arise and they become aware of your third-party-purchase. Besides, Foxboro hardware cost is peanuts compared to software costs...
