Re: getpars
Getpars uses a service within the control station called db_query. It is
designed to support programs like FoxSelect that want to know what is in the
controller. It has a lower priority than other activities in the CP, e.g.,
Block Processing, Alarming, etc.
The amount of data that a CP can dump on to the wire is pretty small compared
to the bandwidth of the MESH network. There could be some loading concerns
Nodebus.
I don't have performance data, but if you have 1000 PID blocks with 5
interesting items and assume that 10 bytes are used for each value, you are
talking about 50,000 bytes which is 400K bits total. The link from the CP to
the switch is 100,000K bits per second. Assume that 50% of that bandwidth is
actually available, you are talking .004% of the bandwidth.
Of more significance is the load on the CP. It should be modest, but I'd try it
on your heaviest loaded CP first and use the Station Block display to watch the
impact.
Re: omgetimp
This is fine, but boy is it going to be slow since it can return only one value
at a time.
Best,
Alex
