I'm wondering about your setup. To my knowledge, * AIM*API does not install on a generic PC. Rather, it installs on an AW. * An AIM*API client library (DLL) installs on the generic PC The client library enables applications like AIM*OPC DA Server or AIM*Historian to find the AW with AIM*API on it and obtain data from that system. When setup in this fashion, * On the AW, you will an_init.tcp is installed in /opt/aim/bin. * On the client PC, you will have an_init.cfg installed in a folder generally with the application that is using AIM*API. An_init.tcp contains the information required by AIM*API to control access to its services based on license codes among other things. An_init.cfg contains information, e.g., IP addresses and port numbers, required by the AIM*API client to find the data source, i.e., the AW with AIM*API installed and licensed for clients. Thus, I would not expect to find an_init.tcp on your client PC. I would expect to find it on the AW from which data will be sourced. I would expect to find an_init.cfg on your client PC. Could you share with us what you are trying to do? Either the file is missing or the path is not reachable by your start-up program. Read through the start-up program to see where tit is looking then check that location for the file and then that it correctly defines the port. > Date: Tue, 17 Sep 2013 12:55:43 +1000 > Subject: [foxboro] an_init.tcp > From: lovetomix@xxxxxxxxx > To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > Hi All, > I've Installed AIM API onto an off platform computer. > > When I run it - the program says it cannot find "an_init.tcp" > > Has anyone seen this issue? > > > > > ______________________________________________________________________ > _ This mailing list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Invensys > Process Systems (formerly The Foxboro Company).
