Brian, The write-up explains the relationship among CSA, workfiles, CP RAM, and checkpoint file with a diagram. I should update it for FCS Configuration Tool (IEE), but it's not that different really. Q: From ICC, PBAND is changed, what occurs? A: When "DONE" is clicked, the CP is updated. The temporary workfile is updated. The "real" workfile is replaced when you leave the station. A checkpoint occurs at that time as well. CSA does not change. Q: From Select PBAND is changed, what occurs? A: The CP's RAM is updated. The workfile, CSA, and checkpoint file do not change. Q: Which files get updated and if they don't what to do to update them? A: The UPDATE command in the ICC reads all "settable" parameters and updates the workfile. The Checkpoint command (ICC, SMDH/SysMgr, cpoint, etc.) updates the checkpoint file. CSA is updated with the configurator adds or delete blocks. Q: What happens when you add a block in ICC and the HOST crashes? A: If the timing is "right," CSA and the CP will be out of synchronization. The workfile won't match either. The question always comes up about when or how are the CSA, Work File and Checkpoint files are updated. Has anyone seen a good description or drawing showing how this works. Example: From ICC, PBAND is changed, what occurs? From Select PBAND is changed, what occurs? Which files get updated and if they don't what to do to update them? What happens when you add a block in ICC and the HOST crashes?
