I got it working. Thanks people for the reply. Specially Latheef. The
solution provided by Latheef was the most accurate that helped me. I did
the following steps.
1- Create a file /etc/hostname.le1 to include the interface new name.
2- Modify /etc/hosts to include and specify the IP address for the new
name.
3- reboot the machine
After this, the "ifconfig -a" showed both interfaces and I was able to
ping through both.

Thanks,

Jose,

Check with the following commands:

ifconfig -a

Above command should give you the list of configured Ethernet ports in
the
machine

ifconfig le1 plumb

Command should create le1 if it does not exist.

ifconfig le1 inet XXX.XXX.XX.XX

where XXX.XXX.XX.XX is the IP Address, assigns the address to le1

Subject: [foxboro] WP51A Built-in Eth TP Port

Hi List :
I have a WP51A ver. 4.0 running DM since a long time ago (1994). This
machine is a tiny SUN box with a built-in TP ether port and a BNC/AUI
LAN
card (not built-in).

I would like to have an additional access to this machine through the TP
port, however this machine only sees "le0" as the only eth port and it
is
pointing to the BNC/AUI Lan card. It looks like the TP port is disable
somehow from the PROM level, but I don't find a parameter for this.

Is there a way to enable or use this TP port or it is hard disabled? Is
it a
jumper on the board? How it is solved?

Thanks in advanced for any reply!
