First, Foxboro talks to profibus DP only, if your kit is profibus PA you might
need to install PA/DP couplers.
Second, The GSD file can be manually edited by the profibus slave configurator
and saved as a PSL file on /usr/fox/sp/files/devices/
Third, verify that your profibus network segments are correctly installed and
addressed. Normally for a Micro IA start at address 11 up to 60; depending on
the existing Micro IA load, the amount of information you want to extract from
the devices and the actual the amount of new drives; all these variables affect
the number of drives you can have and the configuartion of the ECB Master.

Try reading B0400FE; might give you a better insight of what you need.

Subject: [foxboro] Profibus GSD File

Dear All,

We are trying to integrate our old micro I/A stations with new ABB ACS
800 style drives, fitted with RPBA-01 Profibus adapters. We had used ACS
600 with NPBA-12 modules, which work fine.=20

We are having trouble setting up the ECB information with the new ACS
800 drives, but found the following in the Foxboro manuals (B0193VJ-Rev
E), I quote:

"Before you configure your Profibus ECBs (ECBs 102 and 103), install and
run the AutoConfig Professional Profibus-DP configuration software
(K0173VW). This software interprets the device database (GSD) files
supplied with your Profibus device, and provides you with the necessary
communications and network configuration parameters; thus allowing you
to quickly and easily enter the correct parameters in the ICC. For
information on installing and using the software, refer to the readme
file and the user manual that accompanies your AutoConfig Professional
software."

I believe this to have been third party software...

I cannot source this from Foxboro despite and am hoping that somebody
has a copy of it, or failing that have configured ACS 800 drives
successfully with microI/A's?

Kind regards and hope to hear from you soon.
