Re: OPC browsing issue Are the tags that you want to browse, CBPs or are they Application Objects, e.g., objects with the type DMCMV, DMCFF, DMCOP, etc.? If the latter, you will not find the attribute names. The OPC tag browser is linked to CSA's database. CSA does not support the registration of parameter/attribute level names so Application Object Attributes cannot be found using the OPC tag browser. To access those tags, you must type their names into the OPC DA Client directly. Re: OPC Status Issue Some versions of AIM*API have problems with Application Objects. Make sure that you have the latest version of AIM*API installed. You can check if this is the problem by using the AIM*API test program (aimapi) to put an AOA in a data set and try to read it. AIM*API will allow you to add the tag, but the read will fail with a -211 error (IIRC). Re: OAJ The OAJ mechanism works only with FoxView/Display Manager. Other programs that change values are not journalled. In theory, one could write an OPC DA Server that journalled the changes, but that is not the case with ours. All you can do is put the point in the historian and use it to record changes. When we add a healthy alias in Matrikon using the item path name its reading bad. I added 11AW70/@status point in Matrikon and its value is, "AIM*AT server status is [ICC error encountered see errno]." *Site configuration;* Host station AW51B V4.3 OPC AW70 V7.1.5 AIMAPI V5.5 OPCDAO License for unlimited points. OPC Version 3.2.0.15 "Restrict Items to preconfigured aliases only" is unchecked in OPC Configurator. *Operator Action Journal:* We have operator action journal enabled on all the stations (AW and WP) and its recording the operator actions. Our requirements are to also record the changes done using OPC aliases either using Matrikon Explorer or any other 3rd party client using OPC Aliases to change the values of setpoints etc. Kindly suggest the solution for these issues.
