Hi Rakesh,

We use a product by Solarwinds call Orion Network Performance Monitor. It not
only does your switches/networks, but it also does workstations and servers.
It can alert via email, txt message, or syslog when have issues such as:

High network utilization
High CPU or memory utilization
Drive Space Utilization
Power Supply availability
Outages, such as workstation/server reboots or switch reboots/shutdowns

With other add-ons you can even schedule backs of your switch configurations
and do comparisons for recent changes.

And all the data can be trended an put into reports, daily, monthly, weekly.

It does a ton of stuff, and here is the link if you want to see a live demo:

Subject: [foxboro] Monitoring Network Healthiness

Hi List,
Apart from alarms in system manager about port fail etc, is there any other way
we can monitor the healthiness of network on a real time basis ? As you know
that in a big plant, n/w healthiness becomes very critical, n i m trying to
find a way.
Third party tool would also do.
Version used at site is IA8.5.
Thanks in advance !!

Rgds,
Rakesh
