Greeetings. We are using the Modbus driver Rev 2.0 Feb 16, 2009. We already closed the C5 and C6 dipswitches. How can I create a diagnostic block or where can I find the instructions to do that? Para: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Asunto: Re: [foxboro] FBM230 and Trisen 310 Rene, Which version of the Modbus driver and TA are you using? Since version 1.1aQF2 there has been an enhancement to enable biasing of the RS485/RS422 signals. You have to use TA revision E and set dipswitch C5 and C6 to ON (all other dipswitches must be set to OFF). What I would suggest too is to create the diagnostics blocks for that port and device to verify if it is really related to the physical layer. We already did that. Furthermore, We installed two 110 ohm resistors at the end of the RX buses (I mean, one of them at the end of the RX bus of the DCS, and the other one at the end of the RX bus of the Trisen) Any other recommendation? Para: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Asunto: Re: [foxboro] FBM230 and Trisen 310 Hello René, Please make sure that the RS-232 related switches, when using RS-422 (!!), as written in B0700AH, rev. L, top of page 30, are set as described there. If not (yet), please do so and see if it fixes your problem. If already taken care of, let us know. We are communicating many kinds of equipments with the I/A using Modbus serial. We have Bently Nevada, Enraf, Omni, Hima, FSC, CCC, Woodward, Trisen (160 and 310), etc. All the systems look good, except the TS310. We have some strange behavior with 3 TS310 connected to the FBM230s, one of them are directly connected to one serial port, the other two are in a multidroop connection to other port. The TS310 has a RS422 port. Sometimes the communications are good, and then goes bad; sometimes the problem is fixed disabling the port in the DCS, sometimes the communication failure begins after a IACC download, sometimes the communications are good many hour, sometimes remains blinking... there had not been possible to isolate the issue. Any recommendation, note, trick, or knowledge (anything!!!) to fix this problem? Maybe there is an issue about RS422? This is the only one equipment using this kind of port, the rest are RS485 and RS232. Kind regards, Saludos, Rene Morales H.
