Tom,
I just completed a project where we migrated from AIM to WW Historian with
FoxView. As Russ stated we use InSQL Fetch to provide FoxView trends access to
the historical data on the WW Historian. The Canada Engineering group converted
all the AIM history fdb files to WW Historian history blocks. They also
provided an xls file containing a list of all the rtps in the AIM instances. We
used that to build Direct Access scripts to configure the tag configuration in
the galaxy. We then deployed the blocks in the galaxy to build the tag
configuration on the WW Historian.

Thanks for that feedback David Johnson from Schneider. I asked for feedback
from one David Johnson and lo and behold another David Johnson replied! I
wonder if Alex Johnson's middle name is David? If so, he should start using
his middle name on this list just to add to the confusion;<)
I am happy to know the WW historian will retain its original index (and
GUID) so there is no additional configuration required on the WW Historian when
the tag is moved from ICC to Evo Control Editor. I am a neophyte when it comes
to EVO so bear with me for a few more questions:
1. Can the WW historian data be accessed for display on existing Foxview trends
or does it only provide data to trends when using the Wonderware HMI?
2. If WW historian data can be accessed by Foxview trends, is there an easy
mechanism to export data points from an existing AIM * historian to populate a
new WW historian prior to moving control configuration from ICC/IACC to Evo
Control Editor?

Tom,
The procedure defined in the Access Manager user guide can be used to add tags
to the WW Historian without Evo Control editors. As long as the tag is not
deleted on the WW Historian it will retain its original index (and GUID) so
there is no additional configuration required on the WW Historian when the tag
is moved from ICC to Evo Control Editor. You will need to create the tag
history configuration in the Galaxy database and this can be done with Direct
Access. When you deploy the history configuration from the galaxy the history
collector will pass along the tag configuration to the WW Historian as if it
was a new tag. The WW historian will recognize that the tag already exists in
its own tag database and will not recreate it.

David,
We are not at this point yet but I am interested to know if the
document Russ provided below answers all your questions about how to historize
C:B:P data still configured in ICC into the WW Historian. Would also be
interested to know if there will be any additional WW historian configuration
effort required when the C:B:P data that resides in ICC is moved into the
Foxboro Evo Control Editor. Will all the historical data associated with the
migrated points be seamlessly available when the points are moved from ICC to
the Foxboro Evo Control Editor? Since they are the same C:B:P points I am
hoping so, but if they create new database index numbers for the same data
point it could be messy. Please let us all know what you learn during your
efforts.
Thanks,

One way is to use the Galaxy Sync Service.
B0750AD-P Access Manager Users Guide
Section 5 Titled......
History and Security Configuration Without Using Foxboro Evo Control Editors
Basically create an xml file .....section describes in good detail the
format......
Some users also use OPC to get data into Historian

Subject: [foxboro] Getting ICC configured block data into WW Historian
Hello all,
We are in the process of migrating a site to EVO FCS, but will not be migrating
all of the CPs from ICC. How does one go about historizing C:B.P data from
items configured by ICC in the WonderWare Historian? We can get data from
items in the CPs that are now being configured with EVO, but I have no idea how
to add the items that are not in the galaxy.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
David Johnson
