WP30's were like control stations...they booted from an AP Host.....
If the AP Host went away, the WP30 functions would also be lost.
The system had the ability to define an AP backup for the WP30's, which also
made AP Switch on the fly possible also.

Maybe I'm missing something because there is no such thing as a "WP" anymore
and I never messed with anything as old as a WP30. You don't need multiple
"hosts" (or remote desktops) because you have a bare bones AW now that doesn't
do any other hosting or AP functions, and it has the benefits of not needing
another station to host it, and it is its own station for alarm destinations,
and it can have annunciators, etc. I think that is what the original poster was
asking? You buy the same hardware as an AW (H92 most likely to replace a WP)
and it gets a more economical license that takes into account its not hosting
any cps or anything, that it doesn't run any other advanced applications, and
it only has your desired number of local Foxview licenses.

All you can do is manually Remote Desktop to a different host.

We are trying to understand the options we have with operator WP’s and are
struggling. What we want is the same functionality that WP30’s had, which was
a primary host and backup host and would auto switch if it lost connection.
Each station was considered a separate operator station and supported
Annunciator(s). All alarming could be sent to individual WP’s as well.
What is the replacement for this?
