Dedit has an option for this purpose named Where Used report. Run the following command in a Windows Command prompt: D:\opt\fox\wp\foxdraw\dedit -where D:\opt\disp Assuming you have all your displays in /opt/disp folder and sub-folders. You will find the documentation for this in B0700BE. When I run the command I put above, the report (whereused.txt) is save in /opt/disp. That report gives me exactly what I need in text format. It would take a long time to generate the connection report for all of the displays. According to dedit.hlp, dedit has a command line interface and I should be able to generate connection reports for a batch of displays using the following command: Dedit -R path\*.fdf This would be much better. Unfortunately, when I attempt to run dedit using this command line interface, I get the following: Dedit.exe - Appliation Error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application. Does anyone have an idea how I could use the dedit command line interface? Regards, Quay Quay B. Finefrock Sent: woensdag 12 juni 2013 10:58 To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [foxboro] Documenting database links in FDF graphic files Good day all, I have a set of FoxDraw files and I want to document all of the database links used within the files. Does anyone know of an existing tool for this? I was told that I should be able to convert to .g files which are text but I have not had any success doing that yet. When I try the Convert Display Files tool within FoxDraw, the resulting message "0 of 1 files were successfully converted" is not helpful. I can't really say why the conversion fails and the developer apparently didn't feel the need to elaborate. I don't mind writing some VB or AWK code to retrieve the links but I need to find some way to convert the files to ASCII text first - preferably by batch and not one by one. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you. Regards, Quay Quay B.
