Useless meaning, it is expensive and not useful for anything but
letterbug's. Since it's only used every once in a while battery is always
dead. Hate to keep it plugged in all the time but guess we should.
Cables, chargers, etc are hard to find at any store but can get on the
internet.

What does useless mean?
If not working there is a process for repair or exchange as designated by
your agreement with any hardware.
As to you getting a NetBook as replacement...probably not....as there is
replacement inventory to address faulty PDA's

Since the 2 Pharos PDA's we have are useless, can we trade in for a
Netbook?

The hps configurator software is the only app.
Currently it has been ported to run on a HP NetBook which is what is
delivered with new Invensys orders today.
Along with a infared wand which is used to point at the stations.

Future FCP280's will no longer require letterbug configurator as front
panel buttons will select the lbug.

Anyone using an APP for letterbugging CP270's? Does Foxboro have any
plans to do something about this issue?

Thanks,
