Re: [foxboro] Any 8.0b systems in service?

I appreciate the responses and input from everyone. Our experience with
8.0b has been mostly positive, with a few rough spots. The control
software side (CP image / application logic) has worked fine for us, as
expected, but the workstation software (System Monitor mostly) and the
FCM images (we are using the FCM100et modules) have had a few issues,
mostly related to fault detection and fault handling (such as a switch
failure). =20

I'm not trying to throw rocks (rotten fruit, maybe) by raising this
issue, and I have to point out that Foxboro is actively working on
resolving all the issues we have identified and has corrected several of
these already. Having also not recently fallen from a turnip truck,
problems and "features" with any x.0 software release are not
unexpected. We tested and shipped a system at 4.0 several years ago,
but commissioned it (much later) at 4.1.1, so this isn't anything new.

Thanks,
Gaylon

Hi All,
Nothing to be scared of about 8.ob system I commissioned a small system
in
Western Canada in April 2005 and it is working fine. There are no major
complaints from the site.

V8.0b is the most robust system in I/A system I ever seen. I have
installed
many systems starting from A09a in 1989.

Hi All,
=3D20
I'm fishing for information on any version 8.0b systems that may be out
there running. We have a medium sized 8.0b system in testing at Foxboro
MA now, and I'd like to compare notes. We have 6 AW/WP70s and 6 ZCP270
pairs in a redundant mesh network configuration with 3 pairs of
Enterasys fiber switches in a modified ring configuration. I would
appreciate any information from anyone that has something at version
8.0b.
