Joe,
Invalid Alarm Manager Name; AW2004 not in screen list"
Numerous ways were tried to configure the FoxView DMs and Alarm Managers, both
with and without Screen Lists. No matter what,
the message is given and the Current Alarm Display fails to open. The letterbug
in the message is the Server 2003 letterbug not the remote DM name.
Alarm Managers are configured for every Display Manager and the remote FoxViews
work fine but not the Alarm Managers.
Fix/Resolution
When configuring additional DM's and Alarm Managers for use with the Server
2003, the I/A Series System Model P91 System Administrator
Guide B0700BX provides a good example in Chaprter 5.
However when using SCREEN Lists to dedicate specific DM's to remote clients you
should not define the SCREEN variable when defining the AMNAME.
Defining the SCREEN variable as described in the document will result in the
error "Invalid Alarm Manager Name; AW2004 not in screen list"
being displayed when trying to access the CAD.
To work around this problem, when defining the AMNAME leave as undedicated and
associate back to the DM using the DMTOAM association.
The DM will be dedicated to the remote client through the SCREEN list and the
AM will only be associated with that DM. The following contains
the correct edits for the example provided in B0700BX
