Thank you so much, Beth, for sending this reminder. I forgot to buy the books for the event - crap! - but I will take care of it before our Wednesday event!! Based on the last two events that I've attended, it may be a trick to get everyone's attention for the drawing before they line up for the author visit/book signing! I did get the water delivered last weekend, so there should be about 13 dozen bottles of water at each location already. For the two evening events I've signed up for, I will get there as close to 5:30 and 6:30 as I can, but I will also be juggling with getting my son home after his track practice. I can't wait though - Book Festival has been fantastic so far!!! -kate _____ From: folks-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:folks-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of bcarpent Sent: Friday, April 09, 2010 4:15 PM To: folks@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [folks] Book Festival information Hello FOLKS, I wanted to check in with you to make sure we're ready to go for the Book Festival next week. Here's who I have as being signed up to help at our library's events: Wednesday, April 14th at the Little Chute Library Beth Kephart - writing workshop The workshop begins at 6 p.m., but I would like volunteers and refreshments at the library by 5:30 p.m. I have Kate and Nancy signed up as volunteers, with Mary bringing cookies and Kate bringing water. Thursday, April 15th at the Little Chute Library Kao Kalia Yang presentation The workshop begins at 10 a.m., but again, I would like everything in place by 9:30 a.m. I have Kathy & Steve Hermes signed up as volunteers, with Mary bringing cookies and Kate bringing water. Also on April 15th at the Little Chute Library James Cambpell presentation The workshop begins at 7 p.m., again, everything should be ready 1/2 hour before that. I have Kate signed up as a volunteer (Kathy & Steve are welcome to help if available), and Mary bringing cookies and Kate bringing water. Friday, April 16th at the Kimberly Library Lesley Kagen presentation The workshop starts at 9:30 a.m., so let's be ready by 9a.m. I have Kate, Mary, and Nancy signed up as volunteers, with Mary bringing cookies and Kate bringing water. I'll check in with Corinne to see if we can make coffee available at each session, too. If I am not available (because I'll be escorting some of the authors), look for Corinne - she'll know what has to be done. Volunteers will serve as greeters and hosts to direct people to restrooms and serve as general information providers. We will have donation envelopes, schedules, and surveys available, so direct people to them if they are wondering where they are. I'll show you where everything is when you arrive. There will also be book sales at each event, but you won't likely have to help with them. I have name badges for you to wear, too. Question for you - were we going to do a drawing at each event? I seem to recall that Kate was going to purchase the books? If so, I'll have pencils on hand with scrap paper, so we can take care of that, as well. Thanks so much for all of your help and support with these events! We couldn't do it with out you. :) Have a great weekend! Beth No virus found in this incoming message.
