Good Morning,
This email is to reiterate existing driving and parking rules at the Taos
Airport. Nothing here is new;
(Driving)
- The speed limit on the airport is 15mph. 5 mph around aircraft.
- Never over take a taxiing aircraft.
- Aircraft "always" have the right of way.
- Non-airport service vehicles should not drive on taxiways and runways.
- Non-airport service vehicles should not operate on any of the dirt service
roads around the airport unless precoordinated with airport management.
- All non-airport service vehicles must proceed to and from hangars by the
shortest means and the closest gate.
- All non-airport service vehicles will stay on paved surfaces except for
operations on the gravel ramp north east of the tan hangars.
- When Taos Air operations are in progress do not use the gate near the
terminal.
(Parking)
- Parking within the fenced part of the airport is approved on the gravel
ramp north east of the tan hangars as well as inside of private hangars. If
you are working in your hangar and your vehicle is outside the hangar that is
approved as long as you are able to move it in the event there is a conflict.
- Do not park on grass or dirt surfaces except for the gravel ramp north east
of the tan hangars.
- Do not store vehicles (except inside hangars) without prior coordination
with airport management.
- Do not park vehicles next to tie down spots unless you are working on your
aircraft there.
Thank you. The idea is to maintain a safe airport environment and to not
inconvenience other pilots.
