I will so do when I'm up and about again after my little accident, thank
you.

You place the phone on the stand. If you read the web link that I sent you,
you will see the answer to all your questions!

Okay Cearbhall,
You place the book on the stand I presume so my question then is is there a
stand to hold your iPhone then or other way of holding it adjusting it where
appropriate or must we just hold the phone in our hand whilst scanning?
Sorry but I never have come across such a stand or even one for the phone
thus I enquire.
TIA,
Tony

I don't understand you, I'm afraid! The link is to a page where such stands
are described and you will see how available they are.

There is a chance that the Fopydo stand is no longer available. Here is a
link that will give you a number of stands to choose from, including the
Fopydo stand:

Hi Cearbhall,
I liked your description and experience of using Voice Dream.
I have read a number of reviews of it and most find it great so I've
decided to take the plunge and purchase same for a not to dear of a price
indeed.
I was wondering is there a way to be able to hold the iPhone as something
like a stand and where do we get the Fopydo Reader?
Thanks for your thoughts and good luck with that hospital procedure.

I had a great experience with VoiceDream Scanner when I needed a medical
handbook for an operation that I am about to undertake. This was a 28 page
booklet and I needed to read all of it.
I used the Fopydo stand with its book reading holder. I set the book into
place and placed the iPhone so that the camera was positioned over the
text.
Voicedream staarted humming when I had the book properly in place. I
selected the default scanner settings and batch mode.
When I heard the buzzing, I tapped "Take Picture". Within a few seconds I
swiped back from the start button to find that the converted text was on
screen and then Voiceover began to read it out. Leaving the reading to
continue, I turned the page on the book, repositioned it until the buzzing
commenced and then interrupted the reading voice to find the "Take Picture"
again. After double-tapping on this I guessed that the OCR must be working
and swiped back twice to the spot where the previous page had been spoken.
Voivedream now showed me "Page 2 and the reading of the second page
commenced.
I repeated this action in the hope that I was doing the right thing until
all the pages had been scanned. I had noted that the page number was
incrementing each time and so I was sure that all was going well.
At the end, I was delighted to find that I had one file containing all the
scanned pages in proper sequence and ready to save.
I used the "Share" function to save the file to Voicedream Reader.
The whole operation took only about 20 minutes.
Prior to this, I had tried ABByyy Finereader on the PC and Seeing aI on the
iPhone without any success.
All the best,

Subject: [fb-exchange] Scanning print matterial
Hi all
I use the Voice Dream Scanner app on my IPhone to scan printed material and
find it excellent. However it can be a slow process if I need to scan a
number of pages.
I was using Kurzweil on a windows machine which has now crashed. It was a
great programme with lots of good features.
I am wondering what people use to read printed material these days?
Kind regards
Joan Ann Brosnan.
