I think this sounds somewhat promising, altho it would conflict w marg and ed's show. Maybe not in line w our mission tho... Thoughts? I am working along with several scientists, artists and architects to develop a show that will exhibit work being conducted at Georgia Tech that is intended for educational purposes. We would like to know if the space is available for our use for a day during the week of March 22-28th, preferably on either March 22 or 23. The Atlanta Science Festival is the first of its kind to take place in Atlanta. Over 30,000 visitors are expected to attend various events located at venues throughout the city to learn about science and technology that is taking place in and around Atlanta. The festival and related exhibits are non-profit. To learn more follow this link: http://atlantasciencefestival.org/ We are currently looking for a venue to house two installations, with 1-3 additional installations to be included depending on space available. -The first installations is a set of interactive audio visual pieces that integrate music and molecular biology. The participants will be able to compose their own music from physical interactions derived from molecules. In addition, animated movies will be displayed that incorporate theoretical simulations of molecules whose interactions have been sonified (the act of perceptualizing scientific data through sound) to make unique and educational soundscapes. -The second installations is a conceptual art piece on the origin of life which also involves an audio video element and photography component. -Additional pieces will come from the Center for Chemical Evolution and the Georgia Tech Architecture Department. -If you have any questions concerning the art please let me know. Please email or call me when you can. Thank you, Brian 404-834-2025 -- Georgia Institute of Technology School of Biochemistry and Chemistry Hud Lab Research Assistant Graduate Student (404) 385-1166
