Try and use hyper-terminal instead.

Choose to use TCP/IP, select port 25 and type in the ip address or host you 
want to connect to. Make sure you do this in the properties box

Go to settings choose ASCII setup and check the following boxes

- Send line end with line feeds
- Echo typed characters locally

This will enable you to view the commands you issue.

You can type and send the commands in DOS mode but you can't see what you are 
typing.

Also note that the telnet does not accept alterations while issuing a command.

Hi,

Iam trying to telnet to my smtp server port 25 and
then trying to type and learn some commands.
BUT after it coming up with an ok prompt ,i cannot
type in anything.

What iam i to do for the cursor to type in something
in the Dos prompt??
