-------------------------------------------------------No.
i'm using the internal settings
dns is working fine
there is an A record for the smarthost and that can be resolved just fine.

I've used fqdn rarely in ex2k3 and can't remeber if they had mx
records but it seems to me it goes against the concept of a smarthost
for exchange to expect an mx record but what do i know?

Just wondering if anyone elsecan confirm that ex2k7 send connectors
try to lookup mx records when using a fqdn for a smarthost and that
this is a requirement.

thanks alot
