restore public folders to a different location

Is it possible to restore the public folders to a different server so that
they can be examined? We took a server down and some of the public
folders either did not replicate or were corrupted. I need to be able to
somehow get these folders and export them back into the new server. I
could bring up the old server and restore them to it but I am worried
about replication to the new server.
