This rings a bell.....
I had a similar problem a few months ago....
I fixed it by playing around with URLSCAN.INI, which was installed with
IIS Lockdown.....

I REM'd out the entries under [DenyUrlSequences] on an 'as per needed'
basis... I checked out the messages that were causing 404's and looked
for the specific characters in the subject line (subject line forms part
of the URL)

Hi,
In OWA myself and others in our domain have been getting a lot of 404
errors in OWA. The page comes up fine in regular outlook. This is
about 1 out of 10 emails, usually with html in the email.
Has this been happening with anyone else? Does anyone know why? Using
EX2000 with WIN2000.
