Why do you think it routes through the other server?

Because of the mail headers?

You can't trust that.

Subject: [exchangelist] SMTP Virtual Servers

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Hello All,

I am having a problem setting up a 2nd SMTP virtual server. When I set
up a new SMTP connection and choose the new virtual server and click ok
to all boxes the mail still routs through the default SMTP server. Any
ideas? I have the 2nd virtual server assigned another ip in the same
range as the default one.

Dave
