The best way to monitor the SMTP queue is to use the Performance monitor and
monitor the SMTP Server Queue Length. You can configure alerts if the queue
keeps growing beyond a time threshold. This is what I do to monitor queues.

To delete the message from the queue, you enumerate the messages from the
Exchange System Manager and right click and delete with NDR or delete without
NDR. Or you can right click on the queue name and do the same for all
messaged (Is this your question?)

Force connection will force a queue that is in retry mode to attempt a
connection immediately without waiting for the next retry timeout. I am not
sure if this does any prioritizing.

Raj

Subject: [exchangelist] SMPT Virtual Server Queue Stuck

http://www.MSExchange.org/

I had an issue this morning with some emails being delivered and others were
not. I looked at the queue and one was stuck on a job from the 27th. I froze
this queue.

Question 1: How can I avoid finding this out "the hard way" in the future?

Question 2: How can I permanently delete the queue from the list vs. the
frozen mode?

Question 3: Is there a way to prioritize this queue, so I can make one queue
go ahead of another? Is it Force Connection?

Thanks ahead of time...
