Routing via 2nd IMC

Objective
I want to reroute all mail from a particular domain via a different smtp
gateway while leaving all other domains to go via the existing smtp
gateway.
Plan
I have a x400 (SMTP * cost=1) and IMC (SMTP * cost=100) connector on
Exchange 5.5 (existing setup), I want to add a 2nd IMC in our site which
will have a address space of SMTP <domain.com> cost=1 and change the cost of
X400 to
20.
will this allow me to do what I intend to achive ?
