Problem with Outlook Web Mail on 2003 server

Hi All
If I run a terminal server session on the server and load outlook web mail
it works fine.
If I run it either through a vpn or on a computer on the LAN i can log in
but it never displays the next screen correctly. The buttons look funny and
the message "loading mailbox" never disappears.
I thought at first it was a problem with the firewall but testing on the lan
makes no difference.
Any thoughts or help much appreciated.
Using IE6 with all the latest service packs. Have tried changing IE security
settings but again no joy.
I have a screen shot I can send if anyone would like to see the problem.
