RE: Primary accounts

If you go into Active Directory Users and Computers and right-click over the
account that currently owns the mailbox and select Exchange Tasks and then
select Remove Exchange Attributes.
 
Then go into Exchange System Manager, open the Store where the mailbox is,
and right click over Mailboxes and run the Mailbox Cleanup process, the
mailbox will then appear with a red X next to it, this indicates that it is
a disconnected mailboxes, you will then be able to right-click over the
mailbox and select Reconnect, this will allow you to select a user that you
would like to associate the mailbox with.
