http://www.msexchange.org -------------------------------------------------------"Operation failed", messages saying that the server is taking longer than expected to respond, and the inability to open attachments are normally always a result of bad network connectivity to the server. Last time I had similar issues with a couple of machines, most of the traffic between outlook and the exchange server was RPC over UDP. It turned out there was some bad cabling between two switches which was causing lots of packet loss and so outlook wasn't able to communicate properly with the server as the UDP packets were just getting dropped whenever data transfer rate got high (like when opening an attachment). I just tested on another computer and Outlook 2007 works fine. OWA also okay. I suspected that the issues are local to my computer but just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this before. Is the issue restricted to a single workstation? What happens if you are using OWA? Rick On Thu, Aug 20, 2009 at 10:17 AM, A. When composing a message, Outlook 2007 acts as though it times out after about 2-3 minutes. When this happens, if I send the message, it ends up in the DRAFTS folder, with the message truncated. This happens whether I'm composing, replying or forwarding. OWA always works fine. 2. Perhaps related to the first issue, but I'm not able to open or save any type of attachments in Outlook 2007. I always get "Operation failed" message. Again, this issue is not seen in OWA. I have tried several times to completely uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2007 but the issues still come up. I have checked on the Web for for help but could not find anything. Please help!
