Thanx Neil. Yeah, how about it Mark F - :-) C. -----Original Message----- From: Neil Hobson [mailto:Neil.Hobson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 14, 2003 8:57 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Not acceppt mail noexistinguser@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.MSExchange.org/ Well, since no NDR is generated by your server, I don't think anything is reported back. I'd have to test to be sure. And typically, I rebuilt my test E2k3 server the other day as a 5.5 server for some testing. :-( I'll report back when I get a chance to test again, unless anyone here has got an E2k3 server handy[1]. Neil [1] Mark F - surely you've got one hanging around somewhere! -----Original Message----- From: Cory D. I do not want to acknowledge back to them if it does. Basically what I am looking for is a way not to respond if that person(s) are not in the GAL. E2k3 has a new check box called 'Filter recipients who are not in the directory'. This means that, at the SMTP verb level, your server generates a '5.1.1 User Unknown' response to a message to a recipient not in your GAL. Also, no NDR is generated. Neil -----Original Message----- From: Cory D. [mailto:coryd@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: 13 August 2003 15:31 To: [ExchangeList] http://www.MSExchange.org/ That is a nice B-Log. But how can I disable NDR's, I am getting hit with people sending between 1 and 40 spam's/min/connection(as much as 4000) and I do not want the extra traffic of a NDR. I have already unchecked "allow delivery receipt message" and "allow non-delivery message". What I want is to be rude and just totally cut it off, like hanging up on a telemarketer. No response just an empty line. There has to be some sort of re-direct or reg hack. -----Original Message----- From: Ezzeldin, Ezzeldin S. I have serious amounts of junkmail in the BadMail folder at one of my customers. The customer is Running Exchange 2000 SP3 and the Relay protaction is fine as far as I can see! The problem is that that the badmail foler rapidly builds up with junkmail addressed bogusmail@xxxxxxxxxxxx, nouser@xxxxxxxxxxxx, (where mydomain is the correct maildomain, but it can be anything before "mydomain.com") The problem is that the server acceppts mail for users/mailboxes that don't exist during the session and then wants to send an NDR. This however results in loads of NDR's in the BadMail folder. Is there any way of forcing Exchange to reject mail during the session for users/mailboxes that dont exist on the system? Many thanks in advance! ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: coryd@xxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: ezzeldin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: coryd@xxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: neil.hobson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ______________________________________________________ This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed.
