Are you backing up the Storage Group or the individual Stores?
Are you performing a Full backup?
Do you have any file-level anti-virus software on the Exchange server and is
it configured not to scan the Exchange DB's and Log files?

Subject: [exchangelist] Microsoft Backup Not Clearing Logs

http://www.MSExchange.org/

I am running backups on an exchange 2003 - Win Servers 2003 System, using
the Built in Win 2003 backup program which does seem Exchange aware. However
the exchange logs just seem to be accumulating. I thought they should be
cleared out when I run a backup. Any one have an idea why this is happening
