It is resource booking of a sort...it automatically checks the schedules and accepts/declines the meetings for every person in the company (750+) Do I need to have diagnostics logging turned on at a higher level on the mailboxes to catch more information in the application log regarding events? -----Original Message----- From: Periyasamy, Raj [mailto:Raj.Periyasamy@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, November 21, 2002 4:24 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event Sink Errors http://www.MSExchange.org/ Julie, Event 16388 is logged when the Event Sync starts monitoring the Inbox. How many mailboxes do you have with the script running ? The problem may be with only one mailbox. What is the function of the script. Is it just resource booking or something more ? Have look at the following link http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281683 Regards Raj -----Original Message----- From: Ohl, Julie [mailto:J.OHL@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, November 21, 2002 5:08 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event Sink Errors http://www.MSExchange.org/ Raj, I restarted the event service last evening and the script is running again. However, I checked through the log, and don't see any errors that point to a specific user.. the only messages I have are as follows: ********************************************************** Event Type: Information Event Source: MSExchangeES Event Category: General Event ID: 16388 Date: 11/20/2002 Time: 11:32:41 PM User: N/A Computer: GW-HO80 Description: Folder "\Inbox" is being monitored. ********************************************************** Event Type: Information Event Source: MSExchangeES Event Category: General Event ID: 32768 Date: 11/20/2002 Time: 11:32:40 PM User: N/A Computer: GW-HO80 Description: Received notification from store, flags = 1, folders = 1. ********************************************************** Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeES Event Category: General Event ID: 11 Date: 11/20/2002 Time: 11:55:34 PM User: N/A Computer: GW-HO80 Description: A fatal error (0x8004011d) occurred in an IExchangeEventSink while processing message [Subject = "aa7"]. I have seen this last message before...and I believe it has something to do with the problems we have experienced in our script..however, the only information it gives is the subject of the offending message.. I have never seen a message that shows the offending mailbox or offending line of syntax in the script. Julie -----Original Message----- From: Periyasamy, Raj [mailto:Raj.Periyasamy@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, November 20, 2002 2:49 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event Sink Errors http://www.MSExchange.org/ Julie, Did you make any changes to the script recently ? This error normally comes when there is a syntax error in the script. The best thing to do is, stop and restart the event service. This will re-initialize all mailboxes that are running the script. If there is an error it will log that in the application log, and will also tell you exactly in which mailbox and which line in the script has the error. The script is attached to each user's inbox to kick off every time something is delivered to the inbox. Twice in the last month, the scripts have stopped working with these messages (many many occurrences) appearing in the application log: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeES Event Category: General Event ID: 25 Date: 11/20/2002 Time: 9:18:55 AM User: N/A Computer: GW-HO80 Description: Script failed with a run time or syntax error on the last event. Since the script was not modified since the last failure, the script will not be run again until the error is fixed. Please refer to agent log for more information about the failure. Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeES Event Category: General Event ID: 11 Date: 11/20/2002 Time: 8:19:17 AM User: N/A Computer: GW-HO80 Description: A fatal error (0x8000ffff) occurred in an IExchangeEventSink while processing message [Subject = "intranet"]. Does anyone know how we can troubleshoot this? I'm getting tired of reloading scripts! I have seen a few knowledgebase articles that have not been much help! We have been running this script for over a year, this is the 3rd time this has occurred.
