If you had the ability to test it on a non-production box I would try it
first without uninstalling the SP. That's a good question. I don't
have any experience with backoffice installations. Maybe someone else
will have some insight. Just make sure that whatever you do have a good
backup set.

Currently I am running Exchange 2000 SP2 off of the BackOffice 2000 CD
set. I can not perform a direct upgrade, so I have to modify the
registry, then upgrade. Do I have to uninstall the SP first?

According to Microsoft all you need to do is run setup from the
enterprise CD. I would make sure that you have a solid backup in place
just in case. I did it on a non-production Exchange 2000 standard
server and had no issues. If you are thinking about applying Exchange
SP2 I would do that after you run the Enterprise installation.

What would be the correct procedure to upgrade Exchange 2000
Standard to Enterprise since there is no true Upgrade? Any help is
