You can use Outlook to export them to a PST just you can a mailbox.

Good day,
 
I need to make backup for all my public folders but they have a lot emails 
mesagess. there are a way to copy the public folder and then convert to pst to 
use in the future.
if I try to move the mesagess the server work to slow and I have to cancel the 
operation.
please if someone have to do it.
