Changing the name of Exchange Server

i created a test environment with 1 DC and 1 Member Server and installed
Exchange 2000 on the Member server. it was working fine.
when i changed the name of the server, all exchange services stopped. i
dont know where the problem is. can anyone help me solve this problem ( i
dont have any excahnge service packs installed on the machine)
i also need to know the difference between the Exchange standard and
Enterprise Edition in terms of the storage group and mailbox/public stores
(what is the limitation of using E2K standard version).
