-------------------------------------------------------Any time Windows "Users"
UI shows the RID instead of the
domain\username, that user no longer exists.
The good news is that this RID cannot be used; either by an existing or
future user. No one can log on or impersonate this now-defunct account.

While this may be annoying, it's far less critical than other issues you
can probably solve for this customer (such as "change my 'public' name
in the GAL") that don't include changing the permissions on the entire
Exch management system.

IOW, LITFA...

Subject: [ExchangeList] Re: Can not remove user

Exchange seems to have been migrated from Exchange 5.5 to 2003 by
someone else, under all the security tabs on the Exchange server is a
"Account Unknown(S-1-5-21-1844237615-1078145449-1060284298-1148)" which
is inherent thus REMOVE doesn't work. I have also looked through the GPO
to see if I can find the user in question but haven't had any luck find
it.

I tried to click Advanced and remove the inherent option, then clicked
copy, but when I clicked applied after removing the above account I was
told that 27 rights would be changed; so I aborted it.

I am open to suggestions how I can remove this user without screwing up
the rest of the rights on Exchange. Thanks!

Regards,
Andrew
