Upcoming Public Outreach Events
Thursday, February 18th is Payne Junior High (7655 S Higley Rd in Queen Creek
85142 ) from 7:00-8:30 pm. This is a science night with star gazing. They are
expecting about 250 people. Nearest cross streets are Higley & Riggs Rd. Setup
will be on the basketball courts on the southeast side of the school off E. San
Tan Blvd. Contact is Jamie Collier.
Saturday, February 20th is City of Chandler (4050 E Chandler Heights Rd in
Chandler 85249) from 7:00-9:00 pm. This is a star party at the Veterans Oasis
Park sponsored by the City of Chandler. Contact is Dexter Belling. Nearest
cross streets are Lindsay & Chandler Heights Rd. Set up location is the east
parking lot which will be taped off for us. They expect about 200+
participants. Pizza and drinks will be provided for the astronomers during set
up. Please let me know if you are coming so I can give them a head count for
food. And if you have a red light to designate your telescope and a yellow
vest please bring them along.

want to bring a telescope, we can always use some help in talking about
astronomy to the participants.
