Upcoming Public Outreach Events
Tuesday, February 23rd is Carson Jr High (525 N Westwood in Mesa 85201) from
6:30-8:30 pm. This is a family math and science night with star gazing. They
are expecting about 200 people. Nearest cross streets are Alma School &
University. Setup to be determined once on site. Contact is Heather Thomas.
Thursday, February 25th is Redbird Elementary (1020 S Extension Rd in Mesa
85210) from 6:30-8:30 pm. This is a Reading Under the Stars event. Contact is
Stephanie Lund. Nearest cross streets are Extension & Southern Ave. Set up
location is main basketball courts. They expect about 200+ participants.
Friday, February 26th is Salt River Tribal Library (1880 N Longmore Rd in
Scottsdale 85256) from 7:00-9:00 pm. This will be a star party in conjunction
with literacy night at the Library. They expect about 50 observers. Nearest
cross streets are Longmore and McDowell Rd. Contact is Pat Donahower.
If you can provide a telescope or assistance for these events please send an

want to bring a telescope, we can always use some help in talking about
astronomy to the participants.
