Upcoming Public Outreach Events
We have four events this week.
Monday, February 1st is Chandler Gilbert Community College (2626 E Pecos Rd in
Chandler 85225) from 7:00-9:00 pm. This is star gazing for the astronomy lab
class and then open for the rest of the campus. Contact is Henry DeJonge.
Nearest cross streets are Gilbert & Pecos Rd. Set up location is in the gravel
lot on the northwest side of the campus. In case of recent rain we will set up
on the paved lot nearby. They expect about 50 participants.
Tuesday, February 2nd is Kino Jr High (848 N Horne in Mesa ) from 6:00-9:00 pm.
This is a STEM night for the school. Contact is Paul Hudak. Nearest cross
streets are Brown & Horne Rd. Set up location is to be determine on site. They
expect about 100 participants.
Wednesday, February 3rd is Kyrene Middle School (1050 E Carver Rd in Tempe
85284) from 6:00-8:00 pm. This is a community science night for the school.
Contact is Janis Barden. Nearest cross streets are Rural & Warner Rd. Set up
location is the track field. They expect about 150 participants.
Thursday, February 4th is Navarrete Elementary (6490 S Sun Groves Blvd in
Chandler 85249 ) from 6:30-8:00 pm. This is a science night with star gazing.
They are expecting about 200 people. Nearest cross streets are Val Vista &
Riggs Rd. Setup will be on the basketball courts on the west side of the
school. Access them from the bus lane on the south side of the school and drive
over the curb near the indention.. Contact is Joanne Terrell.
If you can provide a telescope or assistance for these events please send an

want to bring a telescope, we can always use some help in talking about
astronomy to the participants.
